Hi, this is me…
I’m a former (17+ years) Apple learning and development exec, certified executive coach, leadership trainer, team building and event facilitator.
My experience from Apple, is both broad and deep and much of my Apple experience was as a Senior Faculty Member of Apple University, Apple’s primary learning and development function. I taught leadership and management to some of the best minds on the planet, solving for some of the most difficult management problems.
I worked directly with senior executives and leaders to help them create strong and effective team cultures, enabling them to innovate, and collaborate to make some of the worlds most successful products.
I was also part of product marketing at the world’s most iconic brand, launching some of the most successful and iconic products. Apple is one of the foremost marketing companies and I learned the power of storytelling in conveying compelling messages to capture hearts and minds.
I am excited to take this experience, paired with my engaging facilitation style, and help you shape your team and organization to leverage the power to culture. Unleash your team’s potential and take some of the heavy lift from your management approach. Reach out today and I’d be happy to chat with a free 30 minute consultation.
Prior to Apple, I worked in retail, the airline industry, cruise ships and more. My experience has been international, having lived and worked in Canada, the UK, France, and the USA.
My work has taken me to over 60 countries around the world, giving me the opportunity to work with people and cultures from around the globe.
In every role, I’ve worked one-on-one with senior executives to help them provide leadership, reshape their personal leadership approach, and craft a more deliberate approach to shaping and leading their organizations.
I’ve spent many years performing improv theatre, which gives me a particular skill set when facilitating classes and team building events. I also have extensive experience creating and facilitating engaging and impactful workshops for middle managers, junior managers and all levels of employees, from the very new to the very tenured. This means I can flex to every level, and help you create a cohesive approach and deploy an organizational wide strategy.
Why “Breakfast Club Consulting”?
Frankly, breakfast is the best meal to share with friends: it’s intimate, and casual, and helps create a familiarity and connection. I love meeting with clients over breakfast or a coffee to learn more about them, how I can help and to connect at a human level! It’s like having our own little breakfast club!
The movie (The Breakfast Club) is also such a great example of human connection despite the challenges of diversity. The five characters were poles apart from each other and yet over the course of the day (the movie) they learned that they were more alike and had more in common than they could ever have imagined.
They also realize that come Monday morning, when they are back to class, the social pressures of the respective subcultures to which they each belong, mean it will be really hard for them to stay connected, to even acknowledge each other in passing.
It’s a lot like a team: if you can bring a disparate group of people together and help them connect, you create a sense of belonging. Then, the hard work begins in figuring out how to keep them connected, and cohesive. Team leaders are facing the tremendous pressures people feel that make it hard to “fit in”, all while they try to maintain their own authenticity.
It’s not just a movie… for a leader it’s ongoing and important work.
And for better and for worse, that’s the invisible power of culture.
